NYUNGWE ECO LODGE PROPOSAL | nyungwe forest proposal | rwanda | proposal | 2007

National eco-tourism strategies set out to create a sustainable and responsible range of tourist experiences celebrating the diverse qualities of the 5 provinces of Rwanda. Eco-tourism has fast become a key strategy for economic growth of a host nation and international investment. The design of the eco-lodge takes advantage of the dramatic and pristine landscape set in the tea plantations on the edge of the famous Nyungwe Rain Forest. Tailor-made structures carefully positioned in the landscape bring visitors into close contact with the surroundings. In addition to the environmentally sensitive design approach, a strategy for engaging local communities, skills and building traditions was proposed for integration into the design, construction and operational aspects of the eco-lodge.
